Watch the Movie – Living Juicers vs Centrifugal Juicers

Watch the Oscar 930 Pro commercial juicer vs centrifugal juicer movie. First you will see how the Oscar 930 Pro cold press juicer works as a superior drinkmaker when compared with a standard blender…

What is a Centrifugal Juicer?

Centrifugal juicers are the most common juicers used. Centrifugal juicers work by using a flat cutting blade at the base of a rapidly spinning strainer. Heat, static electricity and large amounts of air are drawn in; nutrients are destroyed as oxidation occurs. Essential enzymes in fruit and vegetable juice die at temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius. Any juice extractor using a high-speed blade or centrifuge creates friction heat and destroys vital nutrients. Juicing machines will allow you to take control of the quality of the produce, but extraction methods can still destroy vital nutrients, vitamins and living enzymes. How the conventional/centrifugal juicer works.. The centrifugal force passes the produce through tiny holes in the strainer. The strainers are difficult to clean and they can’t juice wheatgrass or leafy green vegetables effectively and economically. The pulp builds up in the strainer and the machine needs to be periodically emptied, making continuous juicing impossible. So there’s a lot of noise, a poor quality juice, a stop & start process, a large amount of wasted produce (wet pulp – not dry) and a difficult clean up afterward. No wonder so many people buy a juicer with good intentions for their health and the health of their loved ones and then give up shortly afterward!

What is a Living Juicer?

Masticating Juicers

juicerMasticating Juicers run at a slower rate than most centrifugal juicers. Masticating juicers break down more fibre more thoroughly than centrifugal juicers to release more nutrients. The Champion 2000+ is a Masticating Juicer

Cold-Press Juicers

Single gear cold-press juicers use a slow turning auger to crush or squeeze the fruit or vegetables. The pulp is then pushed through a sieve and the juice is filtered into a bowl. The Oscar 900 VitalMax, Oscar 502, Oscar 930 Pro, Galaxy and Samson Juicer are all Single Gear Cold-Press Juicers.

Twin-Gear Juicers

Twin-Gear juicers are cold press juicers that have two stainless steel gears/screws the rotate inwards towards each other, crushing and grinding fruit and vegetables to extract the juice. These juicers work extremely well and can extract 30% more juice from produce than other juicers. The Greenpower Hippocrates Juicer is the ultimate Twin-Gear Juicer

Health Benefits of Centrifugal vs Non-Centrifugal Juicers

  Centrifugal Juicers Non-centrifugal Juicers
Less oxidation The apple juice from centrifugal juicers separates and oxidises a few minutes after juicing
More fibre Cold Press juicers produce a more fibrous juice, The Oscar juicer & Hippocrates juicer produce a superior juice not only to centrifugal juicers, but also to their cold pressed counterparts
More nutritious Non-centrifugal juicers extract more nutrients — in some cases double or even three times as much as the centrifugal juicers
Greater quantity of juice Often 30% more juice than centrifugal models and the Greenpowerr Hippocrates produces more juice and less pulp than any other juicer.
Easier cleaning All centrifugal juicers have large, bulky parts that are hard to fit into a domestic sink for cleaning. Cold press juicers especially the Oscar Vital Max 900, has fewer parts and is easier to clean
Stays fresh for 48 hours The juice from non-centrifugal juicers doesn’t separate, smells fresh and looks palatable and green after 48 hours in the fridge

So which is better?

There are several advantages in buying a non-centrifugal or cold press juicer:

  • The juice will last longer and contain more enzymes and nutrients than juice from a centrifugal juicer
  • They produce a greater quantity of juice and a higher quality juice
  • They have fewr parts and are easier to clean
  • They are much quieter than centrifugal juicers
  • Most can juice green vegetables, wheatgrass and herbs
  • Some double as a living food processor and you can make pasta, nut butter, baby foods, gourmet dips and even ice cream!
  • Often their warranties are longer than centrifugal juicers

The gentle, slow-turning action of a cold-press juicer produces a greater quantity of juice, which retains more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fibre than the juice produces from centrifugal juicers. The high speed of centrifugal juicers heat up the juice, allow air to enter and damage some of the perishable nutrients.
